Maestro, a gentle soul, departed this afternoon in the arms of his loving owner and companion of almost 11 years, Tinamarie van der Horst.

Maestro was born in January 1997 at the home of Catherine Harvey, who owned his dam, Ch Centennial Mt Sun Princess, ROM (Blondie). Catherine and I co-bred this litter, of which Ch Crescent's The Power of Gold, ROM (Pirate) was the sire. There were six puppies and five of them became champions and produced get of their own.

Maestro was owner-handled to his championship by Tinamaria. He was a lovely dog in the ring and although he did not compete regularly, he did come out from time to time and took BOSS in the BARRC Specialty when Theresa Lyons judged sweepstakes in 2005. Maestro's real joy was running in the fields and grape orchards of Northern California, and after Tinamaria moved to Montana, under the Montana Big Sky.
